As you may have already heard, we’re making some big changes this year at Write LA. We’ve held onto our core mission – helping dedicated writers improve their craft, build their community, and have their work celebrated. But we’ve added one very big new piece to the pie this year, and that’s helping our winner and finalists get repped.
How? Through the help of the good people at Roadmap Writers.
Roadmap Writers has helped – at current count – 111 writers find representation since opening in 2016. It’s what they do, and they do it very well.
Roadmap Writers works with contest winners like ours and the winners of the PAGE International Screenplay Competition, for example. They also offer a number of services and resources for writers such as webinars (some of which are available for free!), online classes, consulting services, mentorships, and their own screenwriting competitions. You can learn more about all of their services at roadmapwriters.com.
Roadmap Writers Prizes for Write LA 3.0
For our 2020 competition, we’ll be naming five finalists and, out of those finalists, one winner. Roadmap Writers will work with each of the Top 5 writers to learn more about them and their scripts and then recommend those writers to a targeted list of managers, agents, and/or producers in their network who might be a good fit for the writer.
This sort of exposure to reps who might not otherwise be reachable is invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful that Roadmap Writers will be working to help the best writers we come across this year break through.
Jorge Gonzalez, the Director of Operations at Roadmap Writers, said, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Write LA. This competition gives writers a unique and invaluable experience, and we are happy to be a sponsor this year.” Thanks, Jorge!
